It'll be some watered down, back room amended, piss poor excuse for a bill I bet. Fingers crossed though. Being a CC supporter in this state is akin to being a cubs fan.

an update, figured I'd share... I got this email yesterday.

"Dear XXXXX,

Thank you for contacting me regarding conceal carry in Illinois. I appreciate hearing from constituents on the important issues facing our State, and I encourage you to continue to reach out to my office on matters like this.

As you know, HB 148 would allow individuals of at least 21 years of age who meet certain criteria to obtain permits through their county sheriff to carry concealed firearms. I am a co-sponsor of this legislation, and voted in favor of the bill in the Agriculture and Conservation Committee.

HB 148 passed the House Agriculture and Conservation Committee. I believe that there legislation could pass the Illinois House of Representative if Speaker Madigan would allow it to be called to the floor.

Please know that I make every effort to understand your concerns and to consider them while making decisions in Springfield. Thank you again for your input, and please feel free to contact my office anytime.

Sincerely,

Jason A. Barickman

oops,
here we go first bad thing about it
1. people who meet "certain criteria" can that be defined?
i define as "If We Like You " then you you get one ( Who's Your Clout?) Smile
2. adminstered by the county sheriff
"bingo" now it gets "personable" if he thinks you 're a jerk but other no felonies you might not get one
3. i would think it would be "have the right to carry"
the way it sounds to me it's trying to be written as "may" have the right to carry"
like's it a driver's license or some thing
driveing in il is a privelege we understand and agree with that
i hate to point- out- the -obvious but it was already proven firearms owership is a "right" not a privelege( supreme court)
now i can understand if a person was convicted of a violent felony
it might be revoked but no other problems they should have it
