Canada Ending Long Gun Registry

Public Safety Minister Vic Toews told reporters Wednesday, hours before the vote, that the government’s actions are long overdue.

“It does nothing to help put an end to gun crimes, nor has it saved one Canadian life,” he said.

There had been news stories and posts in other forums that indicated there had been some confiscations in the last few weeks prior to the dismantling of this odious piece of garbage.
That's why we have to be so careful to keep such schemes here to an absolute minimum, no matter how hard the anti's try.
