I have heard that Arizona will accept a copy of Department of Defense Form DD214 as proof of firearms training. Does anyone have any word if this is factual?

Thanks

best way to get a solid answer is to write somebody there who issues permits. straight from the hoarse I had a question about utah and utah got back to me in a week.

There is no formal non-resident permit. Arizona issues the same permit to a non-resident as they do to an Arizona resident. Also, If you have a Pennsylvania, Florida, or Utah permit, you're good to go in Arizona.

To answer your question, yes, a copy of your DD214 will suffice. Click on this link: http://www.azdps.gov/Services/Concealed_Weapons/Permits/Obtain/

Under "General Eligibility", click on this link: http://www.azdps.gov/Links/ARS/?l=13/03112.htm

Scroll down to paragraph N, sub-section 5, and that's where you'll find your answer.
