I flew into and out of O'Hare last October (2006) with a properly declared unloaded firearm in my checked baggage and proceeded to CCW LEGALLY under LEOSA for the better part of a week along Michigan Avenue as a "qualified retired law enforcement officer."
I had several face to face conversations with some of Chicago's Finest WITHOUT INCIDENT, and, in my opinion, unless one goes out of their way to behave foolishly, visiting LEOs, either active or retired, should have NO PROBLEMS carrying in the Windy City! |

Lucky ducks (there clearly is a double-standard in Illinois, only Government trusts it's own and not the citizens when it comes to packing!) |
