Odd subject heading I know, but I dont know what else to really title it. I'm, as my user name implies an OIF vet, and the jr vice commander of my Vfw post. Our post bar has been having some problems with the neighborhood changing around us. We have regulars that come into the bar that have made our executive board aware of problems relation to other patrons and illegal activity. The post, as I understand our bylaws, is collectively owned by the membership and our activities and spending determined by our executive board of trusties. Would it be legal, as I understand that an owner of a business may carry a firearm, for our post officers to carry in our establishment? It is a private club, would that help out cause any? Any guidance would be appreciated.

IANAL but if the owner or board approves it and you stay on private property then you should be fine |

IANAL either; however, I understand Tyler to be correct based on my research related to private property and HB1077 (I think that is the correct number). |

All the years I have been out of the military, I have never been to a VFW. Perhaps I should visit one before I croak. My deceased brother served 2 terms in Nam, use to frequent them and actually served liquor behind one of the bars. |
