Lots of 22/45 for sale here recently.....

I've got one more. It's a pretty standard 22/45 model that I bought used a few years back. Its got a 4.5? (I think that's the length, will verify tonight) blued heavy barrel.

It's got box / papers / lock / 2mags that it came with brand new. Overall its in good shape and has never given me a problem. Only selling to fund something else.

The previous owner installed some ergo grips to it where they were threaded into the grip frame with standard 1911 grip screws. They have stayed put and I never thought twice about them. He also painted the front sight post bright green on the back edge. This will come off with some alcohol, but I actually liked it so I kept it the whole time. The loaded chamber indicator and magazine safety has been removed, but I can re-install them both if buyer wishes.

Pictures will come shortly, but I would like to sell it pretty quick and am pricing it accordingly.

I want to get $260 for it picked up near zip 60050 with a valid FOID card.

The pm's have been hit or miss for me, so if you want it, please say so here and post your e-mail / phone.

ETA - The only grips are the ones on the gun now. Pics coming ASAP.

Edit #2 - What look like scrtches in the picture is lint from the nag I had the gun in before the pics. Not sure why they are showing up so much, but the gun is NOT scratched up.

Does it come with the original grips too?

Pics would be nice too.

One less now, I withdrew ours.

I too was going to sell one to help fund another but now that we have the LITE version I will just keep them all.

Somebody should buy this. These are the best .22LR bang for the buck!

Good luck with your sale but I would bet that you will be sorry some day that you sold this.

I wish I still had or first 22/45 MKIII.

Can't decide. Grrrr. My father in law wants a 22lr pistol, and I was thinking of buying him one for his 50th this year. I know he wants a 1911-22 but he also likes my MK III

This one feels great in the hand with the ergo grips. Makes it feel much more like a full size 1911 instead of the overly thin profile of a standard 22/45 frame.

TylerH, since you helped me sell my Glock off of here, I'll take $10 off for you as a finder's fee for the last sale!

CRAP! My wife reminded me that my father in law is still trying to adopt 2 girls from Nicaragua and during the home visits they frown upon gun owners. I know, I know, it's TOTAL crap, but it is what it is.

I think I'll have to pass. However, to everyone else out there, I checked Buds, Armslist, Gunbroker, etc... and for that barrel length $260 is a good price.

It is a good price, I just don't like the /45 part.
If I wanted a gun to "feel" like a 1911, I'd buy a 1911.

I too want a real 1911 that I can shoot for $17/550 rounds. Until then, I'll settle for 90% of the feel at 10% of the cost.

Will trade for decent 40 cal, 9mm, or 45 ammo.

Really sorry Wicked. Sad I called the wife to get her opinion on the matter, as we had played with the idea of buying him a firearm for his 50th birthday. He's gotten into shooting because I keep dragging him along with me. She then reminded me about the home visits. They have already had theirs, but they might have to renew it before the girls get here. GRRRR

The government doesn't ask you to stop practicing your religion to adopt, but apparently your 2nd Ammendment rights aren't as important.

Best of luck with the sale.

* I don't know that a firearm is a NO GO for adoption, but the general consensus from reading online adoption blogs is that it will put you in more of a negative light. Not official policy, more of an unspoken rule. *

We have (and have had) quite a few handguns in the past few years.

Here are 3 of them.....
Image

You want the feel of a 1911 and can afford to own and shoot it by all means buy one.
We have a Kimber.

You want the best all around gun there is you buy a S&W .357 Magnum revolver.
We have 2 of them.

You want he best bang for the buck that feels like a 1911 you buy a Ruger 22/45.

We currently own 3 of them.

As for giving it as a present to a FIL.....

I am guessing that he already has a FOID card?

In this country is is still legal for law abiding citizens to own guns.
As long as they are locked up and out of sight there should certainly be no issue.....

...and nobody elses business.

Yeah, you would think as such, but they ask. I guess if it was mine, and I just lent it to him, having a FOID and all he could always say that he "doesn't own any firearms" without it being a lie.

Sorry if I caused a little stink, the Ruger MK is a fantastic firearm for the price. Money is just not an issue for me at this point in my life at least for the price of a handgun. I like a MK to be a MK and a 1911 even if I want to shoot it cheap I would put on a 22 conversion kit. I shoot my P210 with a 22 conversion kit quite often.
