I got ahead of myself awhile back,
about 2 years ago I primed some brass, I put the primers in them and I wasn't ready to charge them with powder and seat the bullet.
now i'm ready to use them. they have been stored in a plastic box( no O-ring seal just plastic lid). I'm woried that they will not give a good burn and maybe missfires.
am I worrying to much?? or are they just as good as the day i seated them?
I worry about decapping live primers not the most pleasent thought.
what are your thoughts and ideas?? |

I would think they're fine.....as long as you don't live in Vietnam.
I wouldn't mind a misfire or two, let's you practice malfunctions.
Thought I read as long as you deprime slow and easy you'll be okay, primers need a sharp shock to go off..
We shoot shotgun primers drilled into a board, in a buddies basement, with break barrel pellet guns....interesting to say the least. |

You are fine, look at how thay are stored from the factory, plastic tray in cardboard wraper, no water seal or anything.
I would not worry. |

Am I correct in my belief that as long as you deprime slowly, it should be safe? |

I've deprimed live rounds safely so far. I wear safety goggle and go slowly. So far so good. |

I have never had a primer go off loading or depriming so far. As they said go slow and be safe. |

I sometimes re-use such primers also. Don't tell anyone that. |
