Anyone see this stuff? WTF is this disclaimer?
"Disclaimer: Hornady® Zombie Max™ ammunition is NOT a toy (IT IS LIVE AMMUNITION), but is intended only to be used on…ZOMBIES, also known as the living dead, undead, etc. No human being, plant, animal, vegetable or mineral should ever be shot with Hornady® Zombie Max™ ammunition. Again, we repeat, Hornady® Zombie Max™ ammunition is for use on ZOMBIES ONLY, and that's not a nickname, phrase or cute way of referring to anybody, place or thing. When we say Zombies, we mean…ZOMBIES!"
I'm all for jokes and everything, but I don't think it's funny. It reminds me of the Appolo 19 movie, like it's real, who are they kidding? I think it makes enthusiasts look childish. Firearms are fun, but they are tools and should be taken seriously. |

We have Zombie Max here.
I like the stuff and wish that they made it in more calibers!
(of course nobody takes me too seriously anyway......)

I can see both sides, being responsible, and the running Zombie joke that goes on. Where can I get the Zombie max? |

z-max was released in conjunction with the walking dead series. Its not supposed to be funny it is supposed to be a promotion. you don't have to like but its business and i am sure hornady is rolling in $$ because of it. Apollo 18 is the movie, but again they don't care about anyones opinions because they are laughing all the way to the bank. BTW that movie sucked!! |

I read some other forums about it after posting and a couple of people felt the same way I do. I understand business, but firearms aren't the same as most other products. We need to be ambassadors for firearms, we can have fun, but we shouldn't be ridiculous. I believe it shows the wrong message. Our side is winning, but the anti's still a large voice and A LOT of powerful supporters (POS POTUS).
I think my biggest question was the disclaimer. It seemed to say, buy this ammo but only use it on zombies, it's not target ammo, self defence ammo, or hunting ammo. What if you used it for self defence and the authorities charged you for murder? It happens quite often. The prosecution uses the fact that you used "zombie ammo" against you, that you were looking for a "zombie" to shoot and this "innocent honor student" or "person down on their luck" found your "malice and hatred".
I just think it sends the wrong message. |

If (as you say) you indeed used the gun and ammo for self defense it does not matter because it would not be an "innocent honor student" that you shot in self defense. Malice and hatred would not apply either. Self defense is the key here.
I am pretty sure that Hornady has a legal defense team that was consulted long before the product was developed and marketed.
There are legal disclaimers on each box.
Gotta love an American made product! MADE IN THE USA
Hats off to a company that is not consumed in being 100% politically correct.
My only beef with them is that they do not make it in .38 special.......
Not to wander off topic but what about the Las Vegas Zombie Apocalypse Store?
How cool is that? |

I think Hornady is on to a good thing, given the current obsession with this zombie thing.
A person might do well to buy up a bunch of the stuff and sit on it. I'm sure years from now, when this current fad is over, it may bring a premium. Or... if there is a zombie uprising... maybe Hornady knows something we don't. * Que Twilight Zone theme* |

The Zombie max is funny. But it is also high quality Hornady Match Ammo
New packaging and changing the orange ball in the hollow point cavity to "Zombie" green and you have yourself a uniquely marketed product and truck loads of money rolling in.
American made ammo being bought by Americans, delivering American dollars to American workers
What's not to like |

any body find a box of 500 for this stuff what is it's going rate??
this stuff is the same as v-max at a fraction of the cost.. what is the deal anybody know how long this promotion will last,
are they in the phase of dumping the product at slashing rates? I don't know how heavily I should stock up |
