Here's the starting point. Then click the Concealed carry law" in the right side of page.

http://www.doj.state.wi.us/

The application will be put on this page starting Tuesday November 1st, 2011.

You can download the "affirmation form" now, and use your CCW permit from another state to begin the paperwork.

Fee is set at $ 50.00, and should be included with your application.

TRANSPORTING WEAPONS
If I have a CCW license can I transport the weapon on my person in a vehicle?
Yes. Current law generally requires that firearms being transported in a vehicle be encased and unloaded, not hidden or concealed and not within reach. In regard to other weapons, they could not be carried concealed and within reach.
Under the new CCW law, a person with a CCW license may carry a concealed weapon (handgun, knife, electric weapon or billy club) in a vehicle.
However, long guns are still subject to the requirement of being fully encased and unloaded, not hidden and not within reach.

I like this. can now carry on my Motorcycle while riding in WI.

Cool

The Last line states that Long guns still have to be cased. I just got this from the Q&A section so I would say no to Long guns but I am not a lawyer just reading.

Be Advised, the "affirmation form" has changed from what they posted a few days ago. The updated for is on the page. I also noted from the time I downloaded my form and filled it out, the web site changed twice. Beware of late changes. The states way of messing with us I guess.

I just noticed that they also changed the address line for sending in the paperwork from what they listed yesterday.

What a wonderful state!

Join the waiting club. The DOJ put out a press release today stating;

"As of approximately 3:45 p.m., more than 120 licenses have been issued to qualified applicants. Almost 150 applications have been received by the DOJ at the Attorney Generalís Capitol office, where applications have been made available and have been dropped off by visitors.

Of the applications received today, almost 90 licenses already have been printed at the DOJ and have been prepared for mailing."

My app hits Madison tomorrow with Express Mail. It's possible I could have my license in a few weeks!!
