I love that this suit has been filed, however, I love, even more, that it was filed by a "church treasurer"!!! It is in the Souther District, so I believe that Mrs. Shepard will have NO PROBLEM winning this case. I doubt it will end with a simple victory, but I am sure that it will make it to the IL Supreme Court and beyond. I just pray that we will win all the way to the top!!!

Constitutional Carry HERE WE COME!!!!!

Just joined the NRA today. Happy to support this fine organization that is fighting for our rights in IL.

It makes my day to hear of this case being filed! I am however, sorry to hear that yet two more innocent persons have had to suffer at the hands of some punk of whose absence society would be a little bit better.

IRSA has joined the NRA in its suit at the state level, BUT the SAF (Second Amendment Foundation) has also filed a similar but seprate suit in federal court.

these will, if successful, likely force the state to recognize open carry much like Wisconsin has now. Though i can see a possibillity of the suits being dropped if the state were to pass ccw.

there is also movement on the fedral level to creat legislation requiring ALL state to recognize EVERY other states CCW permit much like a drivers license or marriage license. should this type of law be passed the state would basically have not choice but to pass a ccw bill. with out it IL would be in leagle limbo, much like a IN dirvers license is valid in IL the IN driver must obey the IL rules of the road. but if IL has no CCW law whos "rules of the road" does the IN premit holder follow for ccw??

You're just a hard, un-feeling bastard Charley!!!! You truly don't realize that it's our/societies fault that this women was assaulted in her Church. Rolling Eyes

Dr. Spock would probably say it was because he wasn't "breast fed" or something like that!! The public school system will say that it's because he never got a "trophy" like all the other youngsters did that actually "earned" the trophy through hard work!!!

Yeah, I'm just heartless and totally lacking in sympathy for those who didn't have a playground, or got made fun of at some point during their childhood. I'm really tore up about that stuff.

I wonder if they will still persue HB0148 or not.

I understand and appreciate the humor. I haven't run into any liberals here yet. I grew up in the South, raised in a very right wing home. I remember the hippie protesters and the Vietnam war. I was in Mrs. Carpenter's class at the time George Wallace was shot. I never like that broad anyway. Her son was a hippie and she supported McGovern.

Well, if there are no rules, then none can be broken, right......

You all should really listen to the house debate that happened before the vote.

Here's the link:
http://youtu.be/dGaBdRikIiA

To paraphrase Rep. Phelps' closing statement, "We negotiated with everyone that would participate. Pass this bill, or we are going to sue in federal court. When the supreme court finds the outright ban on concealed weapons unconstitutional, we aren't going to negotiate with anyone."

I emphasize "paraphrase" Smile
