Which NRA classes can you teach after taking this course?

Every NRA "discipline" requires its own class. This is for the Pistol discipline, meaning you could teach NRA First Steps/Pistol, or NRA Basic Pistol.

So, to teach another class I would need another instructor course for that class?

Are first steps and basic pistol different classes or the same?

Every discipline in the NRA requires its own certification...yes, a class. So, if you want Rifle certification, you take the rifle instructor class; Shotgun certification? Take the shotgun class etc.

The First Steps Pistol is roughly a 4 hour class, with range exercise. Basic Pistol is roughly 8 hours with range time etc. Some NRA certifications have pre-requsites. For example, to become an NRA Personal Protection in the Home instructor, you need that class, PLUS already having the Pistol certification.

Some of the disciplines are given fairly often...pistol for example is a commonly given class because it has great interest, and leads to other certifications. Some, like rifle or shotgun, are offered far less often and it is not uncommon to have to travel...perhaps out of State...to take that class.

One of the biggest reasons people get NRA certification is that many States require it as a gatekeeper to teaching their CCW classes.

And...some folks like the great discounts NRA instructors get from some manufacturers.

Just a note that the class is nearly full...a few spots remain. If interested in attending, now is the time to register as the class is 2 weeks away....

thanks...
