This reply is not off-topic:
So I buy my first FOID card, and then I end-up with this small cache costing me some valued cash, and then it's time to renew my FOID, and oh my, the worry begins.
What do you do with those guns that now mean so much to you, if the govt decides not to renew your FOID ?
So here you are buying up NFA guns with all its red tape, as if the FOID stuff is not enough to worry about.
My legal 18" barreled shotgun is good enough. The thing I've learned, hopefully, is buy one gun that's the right gun, you know, the only one you'll need. If you are forced to unload your arsenal it will be easier, maybe. It's not worth the worry. And keep a metal cutting tool if you ever have to relinquish them.
Form a club that leases a public storage locker where everyone pays their share of the rent and provides their own fire/water resistant gun locker (in Indiana).
Class 3 guns require the owner to politely beg the local pig chief for permission ? Translation: they know YOU and what YOU got. |

I guess its all wat you want I'm about to get out of the marines and iv acquired about 5 NFA weapons down here in NC and neither of them are legal in Illinois but I'm going to move them to a safe deposit box in Indiana til I move to MO but yes on the back of an ATF form 1 and 4 require a CLEO signature but if you cant get it or if you like you wife or of age children to be able to shoot them while your not present. Youu register your NFA weapon on a trust and on a technical term the trust owns them as residual assets and it is a valid means of transfer for NFA items and I'm going to do my first NFA transfer for an AOW on a trust in Illinois for a gift to my dad, but people no nothing of this cause it is so uncommon, ill keep ya posted after i send my forms out next month. The dealer I actually talk to in Illinois did his first AOW transfer and had his class 3 ffl for 10 yrs. |

Cabelas (Hammond, Indiana) sells a small low cost fire resistant longgun locker/safe. This gun safe will minimize corrosion while a gun is stored in a public storage locker. Keep it up on a skid, weight it down or chain or bolt it to the floor..
NFA guns and rules are always an interesting topic.
The 2nd amendment prohibits govt from regulating guns...the 1934 GCA/NFA is illegal along with the existence of the BATF.
And most gun owners already know NFA guns are the least source of crime guns. |

Yea them laws only effect me and you and make me way a long time just to receive the gun from a dealer, and dealer to dealer took about 2 months and I'm waiting on another suppressor transfer, but I'm just concerned with Illinois law ,and why they are allowed to ban them. If the Feds allow private ownership of them I think there should be legislation to rewrite the UUW law and allow the carry of concealed firearms and open carry and civilian possession of all NFA weapons. The transfer isn't hard it's just a long waiting period for it, and John the average law abidding citizen is the only one that would do that rediculius process, when a felon would Just get a hold of one buy making it or getting it off the streets but I bet if Brady where governor he would have allowed it that's just my opinion thought but I will look into them safes TY |
