MIXED MESSAGES FROM TOPINKA!
PHP-Nuke

NWOhiogunrights writes:

"Topinka has said there already are enough gun laws in Illinois and the legislation to ban assault weapons is riddled with problems."

"She has also said that the state should instead step up enforcement of existing gun laws.,."

Well as much as I hate to say it Judy is right! What do I mean hate to say it? Well, let me elaborate a little bit. We all know that Judy Topinka is no Concealed Carry advocate.

However, she does have a point. They should better enforce the guns law for criminals. Then they could maybe understand why Illinois has too many gun laws and that preemption is so important.

Hell, we all know that neither of these two candidates cannot define "Assault Weapon" But maybe and I do maybe as far fetched at as it sounds Richard from the ISRA was right when I talked to him last November. Topinka might give us all a chance.....Maybe a cold chance in hell but she might give us a chance. Rod just needs to stay out of gun business remember he almost closed a factory that makes firearms and almost put about 500 people out of work or will he still?

Governor Pushes Opponent To Support Gun Control

(AP) SPRINGFIELD, Ill. Gov. Rod Blagojevich is pressuring his Republican opponent in the general election to support a gun control measure.

(Click read more for the link to this story from the AP Newswire.....)
In a letter to state Treasurer Judy Baar Topinka, Blagojevich urges her to back a proposed statewide ban on assault weapons and persuade Republican lawmakers to do the same.

The ban has repeatedly failed in the Legislature amid concerns from downstate lawmakers and gun owners about improperly limiting gun rights.

A message left for Topinka this afternoon was not immediately returned.

"She has said there already are enough gun laws in Illinois and the legislation to ban assault weapons is riddled with problems."

"She has also said that the state should instead step up enforcement of existing gun laws.,."
