Yet another *Gun Free Zone* Massacre - Univ. of Alabama

Employees - the group seemingly the target of today's rampage at the University of Alabama in Huntsville - are prohibited from having firearms on campus, EVEN if they have a permit to carry a concealed pistol from the state.  See the below link to read it for yourself.  You can get FIRED if you have a gun and work at the campus.  I would say it's better to be fired than fired upon!!!

Behaviors That May Result in Disciplinary Action

Employees are prohibited from engaging in conduct listed below and may receive discipline up to and including dismissal for doing so. This list has been established to serve as examples of behavior that could warrant a range of disciplinary sanctions. Appropriate levels of discipline may be based on the severity of employee behavior. This list is not exhaustive.

  • Having an unauthorized weapon, firearm or explosive on University property;

Firearms, Firecrackers and Weapons

The storage, possession or use of any type of firearm, fireworks, firecracker, explosive material
or dangerous weapon in the residence halls or surrounding vicinity is strictly prohibited. This list
includes, but is not limited to, rifles, shotguns, pistols, blow guns, air guns, bows and arrows, BB
guns, knives and tools of the martial arts. Failure to observe these regulations may result in
arrest, disciplinary action and/or termination of the housing contract.

The university's student handbook also strictly prohibits having pistols or other defensive firearms on campus.

2. Possession of firearms, ammunition, and weapons by students is not allowed on campus. The University of Alabama Police Department will register and store guns for students.
