What will you do if you are harassed, wrongfully arrested, charged, your property is confiscated, or one day you have to use your firearm in self-defense? You don't have to pay the financial burden alone. We're banding together!!!
ICarry.org, a website devoted to self-defense and right-to-carry in Illinois and Wisconsin - has launched a new program -- a One Gun a Month Giveaway! Each and every month, ICarry.org will be giving away a different pistol to one lucky resident of Wisconsin or Illinois to promote concealed carry in these last two holdout states.

For December, Glock Inc graciously donated a brand new pistol for the winner!! Congrats to Dewey from Schaumburg on the Glock! Thanks also to GAT Guns in Dundee, IL for sponsoring the transfer for our winner!! House Bill 180 - firearms registration and licensing - WE MUST STOP THIS NOW!!!
ISRA URGENT ALERT - YOUR IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED
DALEY FORCES LAUNCH RENEWED ATTACK ON YOUR GUN RIGHTS
LATEST EFFORT WOULD SHUT DOWN ALL GUN SHOPS
Late last week, Daley sympathizers in the Illinois House passed HB180 out of the Rules Committee and on to the floor of the House. A vote on HB 180 is expected as early as this coming Tuesday.
Should you be worried about HB 180? ABSOLUTELY!
HB 180 would include the following:
1. Require all Illinois gun shops to secure a license to operate issued by the Illinois State Police. Under this bill, the State Police may issue a license to a gun shop and would establish all rules and regulations required to keep the license. You know what that means either nobody would be granted a license, or those who did get licenses would be so burdened by regulations that they could not make a profit.
BOTTOM LINE: HB 180 would shut down all gun shops in Illinois.
2. HB 180 requires that all your gun purchases be registered with the state police.
BOTTOM LINE: HB 180 is a licensing/registration scheme designed to keep track of how many guns you own so they may be easily confiscated at a later date.
3. HB 180 allows any police officer in the state go to any gun shop in the state to conduct so-called record reviews.
BOTTOM LINE: The Chicago CAGE Unit could, and would, inspect gun shops across the state doing these record reviews. Shop owners, no matter where they are located, would be forced to cooperate with the CAGE unit or lose their licenses. The true purpose of these visits is to cost gun shops time and money and ultimately cause them to go out of business.
WHAT YOU CAN DO TO SAVE YOUR GUNS:
1. Starting Monday morning, call your State Representative and politely tell him/her that you oppose HB 180 and that you would like to see him/her vote against the bill when it comes to the House Floor. If you do now know who your state representative is, go to the following web site and follow the directions for looking up your legislators: Illinois State Board of Elections. If you know who your State Representative is, you can look up the phone numbers of their Springfield and district offices here.
2. Pass this alert on to all your friends and family, ask them to make calls as well.
3. Please post this alert to any and all blogs and bulletin boards to which you may belong.
Thanks in advance for your help in this matter. The future of lawful gun ownership in Illinois depends on you!

ERIC HOLDERS SECRET WEAPON
JoeFranzese writes:
Dear NAGR supporter,
Please forgive my bluntness, but the United States Government thinks you’re a terrorist.
And now they’re trying to pass a bill allowing gun-grabbing Attorney General Eric Holder to revoke all your Second Amendment rights at will if he has “a reasonable belief” you could pose a “threat.”
I know this sounds unbelievable, but read on.
As you know, in a recently released report, the goons at Barack Obama’s Department of Homeland Security classified gun owners, honorably discharged veterans and little old church ladies as threats to the security and stability of the United States of America.
Even a gesture as simple as placing a pro-gun bumper sticker on your car, or supporting a pro-gun candidate makes you a potential “domestic terrorist” in the eyes of the thugs running our government.
Obviously, your First Amendment rights of free speech mean as much to Obama’s Department of Homeland Security as your Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.
And to add insult to injury, Barack Obama’s Surveillance Czar Janet Napolitano sees no difference between law-abiding gun owners like you and violent racists who murder and vandalize.
But if that’s not shocking and outrageous enough, it gets worse . . .
Republican quislings Peter King of New York, Mark Kirk of Illinois and Mike Castle of Delaware have just introduced a new gun control bill that comes right out of this so-called “Rightwing Extremist” report.
I’m talking about H.R. 2159, the shockingly misnamed “Denying Firearms and Explosives to Dangerous Terrorists Act of 2009.”
I call it the “Disarming American Citizens Act of 2009.”
These anti-gun Republicans-in-Name-Only want to disarm you because they fear your pro-liberty views.
In fact, your love of freedom frightens them so much that they’re now going to great lengths to label you a domestic terrorist.
It’s the perfect way to silence “troublemakers” like you and me, and to marginalize our influence.
And make no mistake: If Congress passes H.R. 2159, Eric Holder would have the authority to deny thousands of innocent Americans their constitutionally protected rights.
But this bill isn’t just about Eric Holder taking away your Second Amendment rights if you’re “appropriately suspected” of “terrorism.”
H.R. 2159 also allows Holder and his team of gun-grabbing henchmen to “withhold” any and all evidence from you or a court if Holder & co. “determine” that it might “compromise national security.”
These are the same people who labeled small government advocates potential “domestic terrorists!” Who cares what they “determine”?
Even more ridiculous, H.R. 2159 says that the courts “must” rely on Eric Holder’s personally “redacted versions” or “summaries” of the “evidence” he supposedly has against you . . .
. . . and he never has to release the evidence he claims to have!
They could annul your Second Amendment rights and convict you in a court of “law” without a shred of actual evidence . . . legally!
NAGR needs your help today to stop H.R. 2159 from progressing any farther. Click here to contribute.
National Association for Gun Rights, Dudly Brown e-mailed this to me today,
You already know Attorney General Eric Holder is Barack Obama’s most ruthless anti-gun henchman.
And we all know what Barack Obama himself thinks of gun owners.
As a candidate, he claimed you and I were “bitter” uneducated folks “clinging” to guns out of hatred and frustration.
And now as President, he and Surveillance Czar Janet Napolitano have gone a step further in declaring gun rights activists and pro-gun voters domestic terrorist threats.
To make matters worse, Republican scalawags Mike Castle and Mark Kirk -- both notorious anti-gunners -- are working with Obama and Carolyn McCarthy to strip you of your most fundamental freedoms.
If H.R. 2159 becomes law, Eric Holder -- or any other Attorney General for that matter -- will be allowed to disarm you based on your political views without having to provide any evidence for his claims.
The National Association for Gun Rights is ready to stop H.R. 2159, the Disarming American Citizens Act

I just got a post card today from the NRA telling me that they are backing Kirk Dillard and I'm thinking didn't he do a campaign add on TV for Obama why would I ever back a man who did an add in support of one of the most anti-gun politicians there has been since Carter? I think I may have to rethink my membership - they can't think this guy is the best for IL. I'm going with Adam Andrzejewski - he's a fresh face with new and clear Idea's for IL. Best of all he supports our constitutional rights - all of them! Hey NRA you can do better then that and if you can't give me my money back!!!!!!

Adam Andrzejewski
JoeFranzese writes:
For those of you wondering which candidate to vote for for Governor, this would be a daunting task if you didn't know any better. Well you do. There is only ONE candidate that is spoken loud and proud of "right to carry" and is also a grass roots Independent REPUBLICAN. That would be Adam Andrzejewski. Bold on the 2nd Amendment difficulties we are enduring in Illinois, tough on overspending and willing to make one of His first orders as Governor, to pass Concealed Carry for the citizens of Illinois.
If you are in want of change at the State level and want your 2nd Amendment right restored in Illinois. VOTE FOR ADAM ANDRZEJEWSKI!
And for the race for Congress my personal favorite would be JOE WALSH. Joe has been at every gun show in the state and is a strong Independent Republican who will, if elected, "PUT PRESSURE ON CHICAGO" to get them to uphold the Bill of Rights and use His influence to get it done.
If you are in need of change at the Federal level, VOTE FOR JOE WALSH FOR CONGRESS!

Woodman's Grocery Stores Opt to Follow State Laws!!!
An ICarry.org member in Wisconsin was asked not to open carry in a Woodman's grocery store - after he finished his purchase. By posting the story of what happened, the community was able to speak with Woodman's and urge them to ensure that firearms owners are not discriminated against for lawfully carrying. We're very happy to announce that ICarry.org Executive Director Shaun Kranish was informed by Woodman's corporate office (Clint Woodman) that a mistake was made and their policy is to follow state law. Woodman's will not get in the middle of lawful activity.
We appreciate the attention that Woodman's took to this matter and sincerely thank them for making the right decision on this matter. ICarry.org encourages all members to continue shopping at Woodman's since they have informed all stores to treat firearms owners with equal rights.
A small but important victory for right to carry!

Violent attack shatters woman's life - attacker goes free
By Andrew L. Wang Tribune reporter (article here)
December 31, 2009
In the photo, Jennifer Hall sits beside her boyfriend, Joe Hoffman. Her hair cascaded down both sides of her face and her lips were parted in a half-smile. It was Aug. 25, 2008, her 36th birthday.
"My hair was down to my waist for 20 years," she said. "I woke up bald -- no teeth, 85 staples in my head -- out of a drug-induced coma."
Two hours after the photo was taken, Hall and Hoffman were attacked by a homeless man, Derrick King, near Wabash Avenue and Roosevelt Road, after telling him they didn't have any cigarettes. King and a second person then beat, stomped and kicked Hall unconscious, she said.
When King, 48, pleaded guilty this October to two criminal charges in the attack and was sentenced to three years in prison, Hall and Hoffman thought he wouldn't be able to harm anyone else -- at least for a while.
But just 18 days after that plea, state records show, King was paroled as part of the early-release program that Gov. Pat Quinn on Wednesday called "a big mistake." And the next day, King allegedly threatened another woman, near the same place he attacked Hall, yelling, "Remember the couple who got beat real bad for not giving a cigarette? That was me," police said.
Arrested again, King is back in prison after being charged with assault. Despite the three-year sentence for the attack on Hall, King was released from prison after receiving credit for serving a little more than 13 months in Cook County Jail. He was one of more than 1,700 inmates released from Sept. 16 to Dec. 13 under the Department of Corrections' accelerated Meritorious Good Time Program.
Meanwhile, the last year has been difficult for Hall.
She moved from the South Loop because she was afraid to walk the streets. She separated for a time from her boyfriend. She can walk and talk, she said Wednesday, but her jaw still falls out of joint, she still has seizures, and nerve damage prevents full use and feeling in her left foot.
"It's been hard on me. It's been hard on (Hoffman). It's been hard on our families," said Hall, 37. "But apparently it wasn't hard enough on Derrick King."
Hall and Hoffman had celebrated Hall's birthday Aug. 25, 2008, at a nearby restaurant before heading to a Jewel-Osco at Roosevelt and Wabash, when King and Joyce Burgess came up to them and asked for cigarettes, Hoffman told the Tribune last year.
After telling King they had no cigarettes, the couple started to walk away. Burgess then attacked Hall from behind and knocked her to the ground, said Hoffman, 38. When Hoffman tried to help Hall, King attacked him, then attacked Hall, who was fighting Burgess, Hoffman said.
King ran over and kicked Hall in the head and face, knocking out her teeth, Hoffman said. Hall lost 20 of her teeth, according to a Web site she and Hoffman later set up to ask for help with her medical bills.
On Wednesday, Hall said surgeons later told her that her heart stopped twice while they operated on her after the attack. "He killed me two times," she said.
Burgess, 40, also was charged with two counts of robbery in the attack against Hall and Hoffman but is serving time in Lincoln Correctional Center, records show.
King initially was charged with attempted murder, robbery and assault, but through a plea deal was only convicted of the two counts of robbery; the other charges were dropped. Hall and Hoffman weren't entirely satisfied with the agreement but accepted it, though it meant, Hall said, that King "basically got a slap on the wrist for stealing a cell phone."
When they learned of the Oct. 20 attack on the other woman, they were outraged -- first that no one told them he was out, and that he served a little more than two weeks of his sentence.
"When I first heard about the attack, I went off on the state's attorney. I just went off the wall," Hoffman said, telling an assistant state's attorney, "Why is (King) ... on the street? He didn't even serve half of his sentence."
Said Hall: "I'm angry with everyone over this. I don't think anybody is doing their job correctly. I'm upset with every aspect of this as a whole, and I just want to move on."
Tribune reporter Liam Ford contributed. alwang@tribune.com
ICarry note:
This woman is quite possibly permanently injured in a physical sense. No doubt she is permanently injured emotionally. Her attacker goes free after 18 days in jail?!?!?! He should be the one who died from acute lead poisoning instead of this innocent couple being brutalized.
